Dubai 950MW CSP + PV Hybrid Power Plant
One of the world's largest single-site CSP + PV hybrid power plants — 950MW total capacity with tower heliostat technology, delivered for DEWA. Members of the YCE engineering team contributed to this project during prior careers at the EPC consortium.
Members of the YCE engineering team contributed to this project during prior careers at the EPC consortium — covering technical advisory, design coordination, and commissioning support across the CSP and PV blocks.
This case is included as a reference project rather than a YCE-delivered engagement. It documents the scale, technology stack, and execution context within which members of the YCE engineering team developed direct experience — specifically across CSP tower heliostat design, hybrid CSP+PV integration, and large-scale utility EPC commissioning. The engineering perspective YCE brings to today's projects draws on this background.

The challenge
A 950MW total capacity hybrid plant on a single site — combining tower-based concentrated solar power with utility-scale photovoltaic generation. The project was delivered as a full EPC turnkey for DEWA, Dubai's primary public utility, as part of the wider Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park development.
Tower heliostat CSP technology — large mirror field directing solar flux to a central receiver
Utility-scale PV component integrated under a single EPC contract
Full turnkey delivery from engineering through commissioning
Among the largest single-site CSP+PV hybrid deployments globally
YCE Team Engineering Background
Members of the YCE engineering team contributed to this project during prior careers at the EPC consortium responsible for delivery. Their roles spanned technical scope across the project's main engineering blocks:
CSP tower heliostat field design coordination and optical alignment review
PV-CSP hybrid integration — control system architecture between blocks
Large-scale utility EPC commissioning protocols and acceptance testing
Cross-cultural project execution across European OEMs and Middle East utilities
Key results & impact
Most engineering credibility comes from project resumes — not project ownership. This case is in the library not because YCE delivered it, but because the experience members of the YCE team gained on a project of this scale, complexity, and technology integration shapes how the team approaches every engagement today.
